On the afternoon of August 27, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Home Affairs solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Ministry's founding (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025) and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress (2025 - 2030).
Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam shared that during the two long-term resistance wars of the nation, the Home Affairs sector contributed to building a strong resistance government, implementing labor policies in wartime conditions, mobilizing human and material resources for the resistance, creating great strength of the nation.
Entering the period of innovation, the Home Affairs sector has made key contributions to advising on reforming the apparatus, building an administrative foundation to serve the requirements of developing a socialist-oriented market economy, planning appropriate, flexible, multi-layered, inclusive, effective and practical labor policies and social security to improve the material and spiritual life of the people.
In particular, recently, the Ministry of Home Affairs has left a strong impression in its role in advising and organizing the implementation of the revolution in organizational apparatus: Streamlining and reducing tens of thousands of internal focal points of administrative organizations, public service units of the Government and authorities at all levels, establishing a model of local government at 2 levels, creating new development space for the country...
"It can be affirmed that, regardless of the period - wartime or peacetime, construction or innovation, the Home Affairs sector is always a steadfast, dedicated, creative force, directly contributing to the creation of national governance and social security care" - General Secretary To Lam emphasized.
The General Secretary commented that the country is entering a new stage of development with many great opportunities, but also many intertwined challenges.
To realize the aspiration for national development, General Secretary To Lam suggested that the Ministry of Home Affairs and the entire sector focus on implementing many major tasks.
First of all, the entire sector needs to perfect the institutions on state administration, public services, civil servants, and social policies. The General Secretary emphasized that the administrative system must truly be an administrative system serving development, creating development space, so that all levels of government can best promote their capacity, creating motivation for innovation, creating strong and sustainable development.
The General Secretary also requested the industry to continue to deeply innovate emulation and reward work to truly create widespread emulation movements with great influence, arousing the desire to contribute in the new era of development.
The General Secretary said that historical practice has proven that patriotic emulation is not in noise and calling, but the success of emulation movements is in urging people's hearts, creating excitement, absorbing, absorbing into the hearts and minds, becoming very natural thinking and doing as a way of life.
