According to the warning bulletin of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, on the morning of October 27, the water level on the Dinh Ninh Hoa River was above alert level 1.
Specifically, at 9:00 a.m. the same day, the water level at Duc My Hydrological Station measured 14.21m (1.29m below alert level); at Ninh Hoa Hydrological Station reached 4.24m (0.04m above alert level 1). It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, floods on Dinh Ninh Hoa River will fluctuate at alert level 1-2.
Previously, the specialized agency warned of widespread heavy rain. From October 27 to 29, the whole Khanh Hoa province will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, some places will have very heavy rain; the common rainfall in the northern part of the province is from 60-100mm, especially sometimes reaching 60mm/3 hours. The southern area of the province will have rainfall from 20-60mm.
Heavy rain is likely to cause floods in the North of the province at alert level 1-2, in the South of the province at alert level 1. The meteorological agency recommends that people be on guard against the risk of flooding in low-lying areas, especially flooding on inner-city roads; at the same time, be vigilant for landslides in steep terrain and weak soil.
In addition, thunderstorms can be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, strong winds, easily causing roofs to fall off, trees to fall, and injuring people and livestock. People are advised to proactively take preventive measures to ensure the safety of people and property.
