On the evening of October 31, a major fire accompanied by an explosion occurred at a scrap warehouse of about 100 m2 located in a residential area in Binh Hung Hoa ward. Many people panicked and chased their children away from the area because of the black smoke and heat.
According to local residents, the fire suddenly broke out from a closed scrap warehouse in a residential area on Road 5.
Many people living nearby quickly pulled out water pipes and used mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire but failed.

The fire quickly flared up fiercely. The fire and black smoke rose suspectedly, accompanied by a loud explosion, causing many nearby households to worry.
Ms. H - a resident whose house is near the scene - said the fire broke out very big with a terrible heat. Many families had to carry their children to escape because the black smoke was sticking into their homes, causing suffocation.

After about 10 minutes, many fire trucks and more than 20 soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police (HCMC Police) arrived at the scene in time. Firefighters promptly pulled out dragon hoses to put out the fire and deployed fire prevention work to spread to neighboring houses.
After 30 minutes of effort, the fire was completely controlled. There is currently no information about human damage. The authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
