At noon on October 31, many traders at Hoi An market were busy cleaning up their stalls and scraping mud and soil stuck to the foundation when the floodwaters receded.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lieng (a trader at Hoi An market) regrets that all the furniture and electronic equipment at the market were broken because they were soaked in water for too long. Although they have proactively arranged their belongings, many traders at Hoi An market cannot predict the flood water rising too high in recent days.

"Today the floodwaters have receded, so we are taking the opportunity to clean up the business stalls, many electronic furniture, equipment, items, and goods have been damaged, and traders have almost lost everything after this flood" - Ms. Lieng said.

Taking advantage of the opportunity to scoop up water from a public well to fill the floor, Ms. Tran Thi Chung (a trader at Hoi An market) - said that not only the market area, many roads along Hoi An ancient town are also flooded with garbage and mud.
Many traders also tried to clean up, each person helping with one hand to quickly stabilize the business situation after the flood.
