On September 30, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the People's Committee of Muong Lat town (Muong Lat district, Thanh Hoa province) said that after discovering a large crack on Na Kha hill, the locality had evacuated 21 households in Na Kha quarter out of the area at risk of landslides.
Previously, many people discovered many large cracks appearing on this hill, the crack location is behind the residential area.
Through inspection, it was determined that the positive slope had a sliding arc with a length of about 400m, the width of the crack was from 30 - 50cm. The mass of soil and rock was shifting, damaging the concrete road of the neighborhood.
Faced with the above situation, Muong Lat district coordinated with functional units to evacuate dozens of households in the danger zone; at the same time, helped people dismantle their houses and move their assets to a safe place.
