Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize the activities of the Military-Civilian Tet in 2026. The focus is on implementing infrastructure projects and social security.
According to the plan, the city will upgrade and expand many important traffic routes. Specifically, Nguyen Viet Dung route (Cai Rang ward, length 700m) with a cost of more than 77.8 billion VND. In Truong Long commune, Xeo Son route (left) is 2,253m long, 4m wide, with a total capital of more than 14.7 billion VND; Xeo Son route (right) is 1,240m long, 3.5m wide, with a total cost of more than 2.6 billion VND, currently being completed. In addition, 3 new rural bridges in Truong Long commune were built, including Xeo Son bridge (VND5.7 billion), Xeo La bridge (VND5.9 billion) and Tra Esch bridge (VND1.1 billion).
Regarding social security policies, the city will build new and repair 31 houses for poor households and policy families. Awarded 2,100 gifts to the poor and policy families, 80 bicycles to poor students overcoming difficulties, 160 scholarships to excellent students in difficult circumstances; at the same time, organized medical examinations and gave gifts to 2,100 people. Localities will also organize meetings and give 330 gifts to young people joining the army, from the budget to mobilize communes and wards.
According to the plan, in November 2025, the launching ceremony for the projects will be held. From January 28 to 30, 2026, the opening and summarization activities of the 2026 Military-Civilian Tet will take place.
