On November 1, the Department of Construction of Gia Lai province said that it had requested Project Management Board 2 (Ministry of Construction) and the Road Maintenance Management Board to urgently deploy measures to ensure traffic during the storm season on National Highway 19, the section passing through An Khe Pass.
According to the Department of Construction, on October 31, the An Khe Pass area (Binh Khe Commune) had heavy rain causing local landslides at some locations, causing rocks and soil to overflow onto the road, obstructing traffic and posing a potential safety risk to people and vehicles.

Through site inspection, the landslides and rocks spilled onto the road surface have been basically cleared by the construction unit. However, there are still 4 drainage ditches buried by rocks and soil that have not been cleared in time, causing rainwater to overflow onto the road surface, affecting traffic.
Currently, the section of National Highway 19 through An Khe Pass still has many locations at risk of landslides, which can cause traffic congestion if not completely handled.

In the face of the above situation, the Department of Construction requested Project Management Board 2 to direct the contractor to mobilize human resources, vehicles, and equipment to urgently clear the soil and rocks, clear the filled ditches, ensure smooth drainage, and prevent water from overflowing the road surface during heavy rain. Timely review and repair damaged road surfaces and traffic safety systems, ensuring the route is always smooth, smooth and safe.
full warning systems such as barriers, signs, and traffic lights must be installed in areas at risk of landslides so that drivers can easily recognize them. Assign forces to be on duty during storms and floods to promptly handle incidents and coordinate with authorities to regulate traffic to avoid prolonged congestion.

The Department of Construction also requested the Road Maintenance Management Board to proactively direct the route management unit to increase road patrols, regularly check the current status of the route and coordinate with relevant agencies to promptly handle unsafe traffic points.
On the same day, the leader of the Traffic Police Department of Gia Lai Province Police said that on the morning of November 1, the An Khe Pass area had stopped raining. The locations where rocks and soil have slid down the road have been handled, and the construction unit is continuing to clear the ditches buried by rocks and soil to ensure safe traffic.
