On November 20, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that, based on the document of the Vietnam Road Administration, the unit will continue to organize temporary traffic on the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway to ensure safety in the context of prolonged heavy rain.
Previously, on November 8, the Project Management Board sent a document to relevant agencies on the temporary traffic organization plan at the North-South Expressway expansion project in the East, La Son - Hoa Lien section. The unit plans to monitor the scene for 10 days (from 10 to 20 November) to assess and consider opening a two-lane route for vehicles at locations where landslides are being handled when they meet safety conditions.
However, in recent days, Hue City and Da Nang City have experienced heavy rain with rainfall of over 400mm. At the landslide location Km42+700 - Km42+800, there are still small slides, with the risk of forming a large slide when the weather continues to rain. Although the project has arranged forces and equipment to be on duty, the operation of vehicles at night poses a potential safety risk.
To ensure the safety of people and vehicles, the Project Management Board continues to maintain temporary traffic plans, specifically:
At the sections Km42+700 - Km42+800 and Km50+700 - Km50+800, continue to organize 1-lane traffic, arrange forces to regulate 24/7. The monitoring period lasts for 15 days (from November 21 to December 5, 2025). After this time, if safety conditions are met, a 2-lane route will be opened to traffic.
Passenger cars and trucks on 6 axles are prohibited from circulating on the route. The remaining vehicles are only allowed to move between 5am and 5pm every day. The application period is from 5:00 a.m. on November 21 to 5:00 p.m. on December 5, 2025. After the above deadline, it will evaluate and propose a plan to open normal traffic.
The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board recommends that media agencies widely inform people and drivers to proactively choose a suitable route; at the same time, it is recommended that the Traffic Police of Hue City and Da Nang City coordinate to guide and remind vehicles not to enter restricted sections.
