Rehabilitation of psychology and confidence
Mr. Doan Tan Buu - Director of the Department of Health of Dong Thap province - frankly shared: "After the COVID-19 pandemic, grassroots health has been severely affected, especially the team of doctors at health stations are witnessing a marked decline".
A commune-level and ward-level health station in Dong Thap province has 9 - 10 employees, serving an average of 11,000 - 12,000 people. However, in reality, there are still some units that have not really achieved the expected results. In 2023, some units could only accommodate 78 patients. By 2024, the situation had improved but there were only 110 patients.

A doctor in Cao Lanh City expressed: "Without patients, we will have a career flood and in the short term, this will greatly affect our income".
The Director of the Dong Thap Department of Health acknowledged that since the pandemic, the spirit of the medical team and medical staff has somewhat declined due to prolonged pressure, many people have even given up their jobs to find other " more "comfortable" jobs.

With Dong Thap, we have a timely "medical coffee" model - where doctors will receive encouragement, share experiences, and good practices to improve the quality of treatment and health care for people.
In the orientation for the period of 2026 - 2030, the industry will also receive funding to serve investment programs for development, construction, repair, and procurement, especially the capacity and human resource improvement package to promote grassroots health care" - Mr. Buu added.
Increase revenue to retain doctors
In the previous period, Can Tho Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital encountered difficulties in purchasing medical supplies, and some hospitals in the Mekong Delta also encountered consequences of lack of blood, causing great obstacles in the treatment of doctors and nurses, making the work of doctors even more pressured.
Immediately after the difficulties to bid for materials and chemicals, Dr. Huynh Hue Han (Intensive Care - Anti-Poison Department, Can Tho General Hospital) was happy: "We are excited because our patients do not need to wait any longer but will be treated quickly, promptly, effectively and optimally. Our mentality has also been relaxed, we love the job more, and want to contribute more".
In addition to solutions to relieve pressure on medical staff, the Can Tho Health Sector has found solutions to create more revenue for doctors and nurses at health stations, improving the lives of people.

Can Tho Department of Health continues to propose a pilot mechanism when implementing family doctor clinics such as socialization to implement vaccination services, service testing, physical therapy for rehabilitation, acupuncture, home health check-ups at the requested medical examination and treatment price...
Those practical solutions are expected to help health workers have more motivation to stick with their profession, contributing to the cause of caring for people's health.
