Gasoline and oil prices 12.4: Simultaneously fall deeply, the strongest weekly decrease in 4 years
World oil prices recorded the strongest weekly drop since 2022, with WTI oil falling 13.7% to 96.57 USD/barrel and Brent oil falling 13% to 95.20 USD/barrel. The main reason is the expectation of diplomatic progress between the US and Iran, although geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have not yet cooled down completely.
However, the risk of supply is still present when oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz is severely limited, and ship traffic is only below 10% of normal. Analysts believe that for oil prices to truly cool down sustainably, an agreement to reopen this important shipping route is needed, while major consumer countries are adjusting demand or increasing stockpiling.
Domestically, gasoline and oil prices were adjusted down sharply from April 9, 2026, with E5RON92 gasoline reduced by 2,393 VND/liter, RON95 reduced by 2,993 VND/liter, diesel oil reduced by nearly 10,000 VND/liter and mazut oil also decreased significantly. Key enterprises continue to adjust retail prices by region, reflecting the downward trend of the world market. See more...

Securities become attractive again as interest rates cool down
VN-Index surpassing the 1,750 point mark is a positive technical signal, but the market is still heavily influenced by external factors, especially geopolitical developments in the Middle East. In addition, factors such as interest rates, upgrade expectations and Q1/2026 business results continue to play an important role in orienting investor sentiment.
Experts assess that the downward trend of interest rates, if maintained, will strongly support the market as capital costs decrease, and cash flow tends to shift from savings to securities. This creates momentum for stock groups such as banks, securities and real estate, especially in the context that valuation is still at an attractive level.
However, in the short term, the market may continue to fluctuate and accumulate before breaking through. VN-Index is forecast to need to retest the current zone, while in the medium term it is still likely to reach the 1,800 point mark thanks to upgrade expectations. Investors are recommended to maintain a flexible strategy, prioritize accumulating good fundamental stocks and take advantage of corrections to increase positions. See more...
The largest biofuel plant in the Central region is being revived
The Bio-Ethanol Dung Quat biofuel plant, after many years of "sheltering", has been put back into operation since January 2026 and quickly produced the first batch of ethanol. The plant is currently running at about 60% capacity to stabilize the system and is expected to reach 100% capacity from mid-April 2026, while implementing many technological solutions to increase efficiency and optimize production.

The restoration of the factory's operation contributes to reconnecting the domestic ethanol production - consumption chain, reducing dependence on imports from markets such as Brazil or the US. See more...
