Many benefits for private preschool teachers
Mr. Hoang Kim Ha - Chairman of the Dong Ha City Labor Federation (Quang Tri Province) - said that in the city, there are many private schools and kindergartens operating on a medium and small scale. Many of these units do not have collective labor agreements (CLAs), leading to workers' rights not being fully guaranteed. Due to the specific nature of private preschool education, the scale of enrollment and the number of children may fluctuate each year, building and maintaining the Collective Labor Agreement becomes even more difficult. Some units, although they have collective labor agreements, do not really bring many benefits to employees, while employers often tend to cut costs to ensure the operation of the facility.
To ensure the rights of employees, the Dong Ha City Labor Federation has spent a lot of time visiting private schools and kindergartens to meet, persuade and negotiate to build a common collective labor agreement. In mid-2024, the Group Collective Labor Agreement for private preschools/cores was officially signed, marking an important step forward in protecting the rights of employees in the field of private preschool education.
This group collective labor agreement has the participation of 8 units with more than 250 employees. The Collective Labor Agreement was signed with many contents beneficial to employees, ensuring better working conditions and welfare regimes.
Specifically, in addition to the monthly salary according to the labor contract, employers commit to supporting shift meals for employees at these 8 units, with a minimum meal of 20,000 VND/day. Based on annual business results, employers will implement a bonus policy according to the classification A, B, C for employees who have worked for 12 months. Employees will also be considered for early salary increase if there are initiatives or solutions to help improve teaching quality and save costs for the unit.
In particular, employees are also entitled to an additional day's paid leave in case of the passing of a relative who is a grandfather, paternal grandfather, maternal grandmother or siblings. Every year, the Trade Union will coordinate with the unit's leaders to organize tours for employees.
Serving as a bridge between businesses and employees
To have quality collective labor agreements, the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor has advised, advised, and supported grassroots trade unions to negotiate, develop, amend, supplement, and organize the signing of collective labor agreements. Organize in-depth training and fostering on collective labor agreements for union officials at the grassroots level and grassroots trade unions. The Provincial Federation of Labor also reviewed the content, quality, and duration of existing collective labor agreements, thereby developing a plan to support units that have not signed or have signed but have not yet achieved quality.
Mr. Nguyen The Lap - Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor - said that in 2024, 169 enterprises in the province signed collective labor agreements, of which 71 enterprises amended and supplemented to re-sign, and 25 enterprises signed new for the first time. Along with that, the Provincial Federation of Labor has coordinated with the Provincial Business Association to implement the negotiation process, organize the signing of two collective labor agreements for enterprises in the area, including the group of enterprises producing and trading construction materials and the group of enterprises processing, trading, importing and exporting wood...
The signing of the Collective Labor Agreement brings dual benefits to both employees and businesses, creating a harmonious working environment, contributing to stabilizing and developing production.
